Clean Economy Investment Tax Credits
The Clean Economy Investment Tax Credits provide businesses with financial support for clean technology and project investments by offering refundable tax credits. These incentives help to de-risk investments and position businesses for long-term success in the clean economy sector.
Eligible businesses can currently claim credits for:
- Clean Technology: A refundable tax credit for capital invested in the adoption and operation of specified clean technologies in Canada.
- Clean Technology Manufacturing: Support for 30% of the cost of investments in new machinery and equipment for clean technologies.
- Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage: Refundable tax credits for eligible capital expenditures for Direct Air Capture (60%), other capture equipment (50%), and transport, storage, and use equipment (37.5%).
- Clean Hydrogen: 15% to 40% refundable tax credit for investments in hydrogen production projects.
Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Tax Incentives
The SR&ED tax incentive program is Canada’s largest R&D program with $3 billion in tax incentives annually.
Eligible R&D projects:

- Use a systematic investigation or search
Accelerated Investment Incentive
